ILLUSTRATED BOOK COVER DESIGN: "THE GHOST OF SUMMER"

Every summer of her childhood, Skylar spent her days by the ocean in Sandstone Bay, chasing the waves and laughing with a boy no one else could see. His name was Kai—wild, free, and as golden as the sun. But when she asked about him, everyone said the same thing:

“There is no Kai.”

Now, ten years later, Skylar returns to Sandstone Bay, expecting nothing but faded memories. But one evening, as the tide rolls in, she sees him again—older now, impossibly real, standing barefoot in the surf with a knowing smile.

“You came back.”

Kai remembers her. He’s been waiting. But if he was just a childhood illusion, how is he still here?

Determined to uncover the truth, Skylar begins to notice the strange, unexplainable things surrounding Kai—whispers in the wind, shadows shifting at the water’s edge, and a lingering sense that something is off.

The closer she gets to him, the more she starts to wonder:

What if Kai isn’t the one trapped here?
What if she is the reason he can’t leave?

As summer drifts toward its end, Skylar must face the truth—before time runs out for both of them.

A haunting and romantic story about love, longing, and the secrets the ocean keeps.

This is a personal project.
